Resto was the worst spec of all for levelling, with truly crap damage output. But they also were one of the slower levellers because of the low dps, I think it took me 20 days /played for my druid 60. That's best case, so a good player compared to a good player. A bear tank used to be about 75% of a warrior tank if geared right (with a lot of specialist high-armor gear), and a kitty dps druid used to be about 70% of a rogue or a mage, and there were no aura's or group-boost talents to compensate, and a big part of a druid's value was as an off-healer.
It wasn't a great tank in the endgame, but I did tank quite a few instances up to LBRS.ĭruid effectiveness was a matter of degree.
a Druid anyway prior to BC there are a couple of things I'd add from the druid perspective: Balance was the most broken spec (Hurricane was the top talent, there was no moonkin form, roots did not work indoors and broke regularly), but Feral actually worked kinda ok while levelling.
